[Beauty in the Beast]

It's a five piece band playing mostly alt, rock, metal... Old Metallica, Mudshovel, Stained, Godsmack, Foo Fighters, Puddle Of Mudd.. stuff like that.

Any band name ideas?

Cover bands are the only way you can get your foot in the door and get paid around here, once you have a following you can then move on to originals.

Band members Jim (vocals), Jon (lead guitar, back up vocals), Sam (Bass), Dink (Guitar) and Rick (Drums backup vocals)... All in their 30+'s, all from Ohio, Rick, Jon, Dink went to school together. Erm... what else do you need?

Can't use swearwords in the band name the bars won't print it in the newspaper or on their billboards and therefore there is no point in hiring you because you won't have a crowd.

These were the first ones out of my brain. "Icarus Falls, Fall Of Kain, Lazarus Wakes, Waking Lazarus, Touching Tongues, Licking Pink, Porno Picasso, The Vast Majority, Slip Of The Tongue."

His last bands name was Red Line Jaded, which he fought for. Tthey wanted Root Of Seven and he thinks there's too many band names with numbers in them right now, I tend to agree.

No, they don't get bollocks either, well they do but it's not considered a swear word... I wanna open a pub and call it "The Dogs Bollocks" it would be totally legal

I shall put it on the list. I think they're looking for something prolific.

Little more backstory.

Sam, Jon and Dink were in a band called Plow, which was quite a big local band, turns out the drummer and the lead singer were assholes and they split... Jim was originally in a band called Seed (funny eh?) which was also pretty big but broke up, then he moved on to Redline Jaded with Rick who he's been singing with off and on for years, the guitar player is jumped up little prick...they split. No idea if that helps.

Bollocks is one of my favorite words (to hear, not to say). I'd definitely be a regular at The Dogs Bollocks.



I wish I could come up with some useful stuff on the band's name, but I can't think of anything. I was going to say "The Pimps" but I googled it and it's already taken.

I'd buy you your own chair and personal corner table at the Dogs Bollocks Anca.... I say Bollocks a lot I also apparently say OI at the kids quite a bit since everyone snickers when I say it now.

I like Icarus Falls. I think that names that are gimmicky and made to just sound dirty makes it harder for people to see the band as serious, but maybe that's just me.

Um, I said something like the people they'll be playing to would probably appreciate a risque/dirty name and I don't know whether they want to be taken seriously, they can let the music and the talent level speak for itself. There's quite a nice bit of musicianship in group of them. Al of them are so totally different it's quite weird. Sam is painfully shy, but he moves like Robert Trujillo when he's playing, Jon is straight to the point, OCD (he colour codes the songs depending on tuning), Dink is a total clown and is generally doing a silly dance while he plays, Jims pretty down to earth and chill but not very confident in what he does (the drinker in the band) and Rick, well he's the approachable one who looks like a badass, he can talk to pretty much anyone and there are very few people who don't adore him.

I liked Icarus Falls so much I used it as a SN, Rick didn't care for it.
