because FLAC is for muso-fags who believe they can hear minute differences in waveforms and who also love using up 10gb on a single album. People who believe they are able to hear light tend to use FLAC.

asshole. flac is only 300mb per album. damn actually CD quality. who knew buying CDs was so pretentious?

FLAC is primarily used for archiving and can be ripped at any time into any other bitrate or file type. From a practical standpoint, it makes a lot of sense to download FLAC if you do a lot of pirating and/or you want a backup of your music.
